A poll was conducted in the US regarding America’s favorite books. The results are not that surprising. Of course, the Bible is named the most favorite book though I doubt the truth in it. Among the list, I have only read the following: The Bible (15% approximately, thanks to my Christian schools), Atlas Shrugged (0.1%, thanks to my philosophy class), Gone With The Wind and To Kill A Mockingbird. The latter are two of my favorite books.
I was a Stephen King fan (still like him though) but I haven’t read The Stand. I would love to read Catcher in the Rye. I don’t care about the others- Harry Potter Series, The Da Vinci Code et al. I might read Lord of the Rings in the future but that is unlikely.
I find it interesting that two Danny Brown books are on the list. He is the only author with two books on the list. Where is John Steinbeck? Have you forgotten him, America? How about Mark Twain? I cannot think of an author more American than him. I also find it interesting that White people favors Gone With the Wind, a book that is sometimes described to be racist. Black people favors Angels and Demons. Why not your very own Toni Morrison? She is the very best in black literature.
So what are your thoughts on the following results? A bad list, eh?

Interesting that the Bible comes in first place. I think that’s probably because it’s the moral foundation for our society. Plus, how many other books written by God are on the market?
It is sad that some of the other classic authors have faded into the dust. But I’m glad God has stayed in the top position.
Dan Brown is a terrible author, and it’s sad that people read what should have been a campfire story
